Driveway & Patio Pressure Washing

Block paving, Indian stone, porcelain, concrete, tarmac and imprinted drives. Cleaned properly, re sanded where it needs it, and sealed if you want to keep it that way.

Surfaces We Handle

Every Hard Surface, Priced By The Metre

Different materials want different pressure. Here is what we work on and how each one behaves.

Block Paving

Cleans up better than almost anything, then takes fresh kiln sand back into the joints to lock it together.

Re sanded as standard

Indian Sandstone

Goes grey and green slowly, so most people do not notice until it is done. Comes back warm and buff.

Lighter pressure

Porcelain

Needs chemistry more than force. Blasting it marks the joints and does nothing for the film on top.

Low pressure only

Concrete Flags

The toughest of the lot. Takes real pressure, which is what shifts a slick green coating.

Full pressure

Tarmac

Cleaned carefully so the surface is not opened up. Weeds and moss at the edges dealt with by hand.

Careful setting

Imprinted Concrete

Cleaned then resealed, because the colour lives in the seal rather than the concrete underneath.

Cheaper Than Relaying

Most Drives Are Not Past It, Just Filthy

People price up a new driveway when what they actually need is a proper clean, fresh kiln sand in the joints and a seal. It costs a fraction and buys years.

  • Even finish from a rotary cleaner, no stripes
  • Fresh kiln dried sand back into block paving
  • Weeds and moss taken out of the joints
  • Optional seal to keep the colour and slow regrowth
Driveways

Block Paving, Concrete, Tarmac And Imprinted

Driveways take everything. Tyre marks, oil spots, algae in the joints, weeds pushing up through the sand and years of general road grime. Because they are built to be walked and driven on, they can also take a proper pressure wash, which is exactly what they get.

We work in sections with a surface cleaner so the finish is even rather than striped, then deal with the edges and awkward corners by hand. Weeds and moss in the joints come out as part of it.

Patios & Paths

Indian Stone, Porcelain, Flags And Steps

Patios are usually worse than people think, because the change happens slowly. Indian sandstone goes grey and green, porcelain gets a dull film across it, and concrete flags grow a slick coating that turns dangerous when wet.

Pressure is dialled to suit the material. Porcelain and delicate stone get a lighter touch and more chemistry, older concrete flags can take a lot more. Steps, paths and edges are done by hand so the detail is right.

  • Indian sandstone, limestone, porcelain, slate and concrete flags
  • Pressure matched to the material so nothing gets pitted
  • Steps, paths, edges and pointing done by hand
  • Makes wet patios far less slippery again

Re Sanding And Sealing Are Where It Pays Off

A clean is only half the job on block paving. Washing takes the old sand out of the joints, so fresh kiln dried sand goes back in and gets brushed and vibrated home. That is what keeps the blocks locked together and slows the weeds down.

Sealing is optional and priced separately. It holds the colour, makes spills and oil far easier to shift, and means the next clean is a fraction of the work. One of our Google reviewers had exactly this done and described it as looking like a brand new drive.

  • Fresh kiln dried sand brushed into block paving joints
  • Optional sealer to lock in colour and resist staining
  • Slows weed and moss regrowth through the joints
  • Makes future cleans much quicker and cheaper

Not One Setting For Everything

The damage you see on other jobs is almost always one aggressive setting used on every surface.

Pressure To Suit

Porcelain and delicate stone get a light touch, old concrete flags take a great deal more.

Detail By Hand

Steps, edges, pointing and awkward corners done by hand rather than skated over.

Drains Checked

Run off managed and drains checked first, with biodegradable products throughout.

Rinsed Down

Walls, windows and paths washed off, and the debris taken away rather than swept aside.

How A Drive Or Patio Runs

Half A Day For Most Jobs

Bigger drives, or anything getting sealed, will run into a full day or two.

Send photos and rough measurements, or Carl will call in. Surface type and square metres set the price.

2

Prep and protect

Drains checked, planting and doors protected, and loose debris swept off so it does not end up everywhere.

3

Pre treatment

Algae, moss and stubborn staining get treated first so the pressure wash has far less to fight.

4

Surface clean

Worked in sections with a rotary cleaner for an even finish, then edges and detail done by hand.

5

Re sand or seal

Kiln dried sand brushed into block paving joints, and sealer applied if you have gone for it.

6

Rinse down and photos

Paths, walls and windows rinsed off, debris cleared away and before and after photos sent over.

Questions

Driveway & Patio Questions

The practical stuff people want to know first.

It comes down to square metres, the surface type and how bad it has got. Rather than guess at a number here, send a photo and a rough size on WhatsApp and you will get a fixed price back, usually the same day. Quotes are free and there is no obligation.

Yes, fresh kiln dried sand as standard on block paving. Washing removes the old sand from the joints, so replacing it is part of doing the job properly rather than an optional extra.

It is worth it if you want the colour to stay strong, want oil and spills to be easier to lift, and want the next clean to be far quicker. It is priced separately so you can decide once you have seen the drive cleaned.

It is not essential. A cleaned and re sanded drive with no seal still looks excellent, it just weathers faster.

Not when the pressure is matched to the material. Porcelain, delicate sandstone and older pointing get a lighter setting and more chemistry, while robust concrete can take much more. The damage you see on other jobs usually comes from one aggressive setting being used on everything.

Often yes, particularly if they are treated rather than just blasted. Fresh oil comes up well, old and deeply soaked stains may lighten rather than vanish completely. You will get an honest answer on yours before we start.

Yes. Forecourts, loading areas, walkways and car parks, scheduled outside your opening hours where needed and invoiced on account.

Drains are checked before we start and run off is managed so it goes where it should. Products used are biodegradable, which matters when the water ends up in surface drains.
