This policy explains what we do with your information when you contact Brightside Exterior Cleaning or use this website. It is written in plain English because there is no reason for it not to be.
Who we are
Brightside Exterior Cleaning is an exterior cleaning business based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, operating across South Yorkshire and the surrounding counties. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described below.
You can reach us on 07300 300132 or by WhatsApp about anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete your data.
What we collect
- Details you give us when requesting a quote. Your name, phone number, postcode, the service you are interested in, your property type and anything you write in the message box.
- Photos you choose to send us. Many customers send photos of a roof, driveway or gutters so we can price the work.
- Job records. Once you book, we keep a record of the work carried out, the address, the price and any before and after photos taken on site.
We do not collect payment card details through this website. There is no online payment on this site.
How the quote form works
The quote form on this website does not send data to a server. When you press the send button, your browser opens WhatsApp with your answers written into a message, ready for you to review and send. Nothing is transmitted until you press send in WhatsApp. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, please call us instead.
Messages sent over WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp Ireland Limited under their own privacy terms, which sit outside our control.
Why we use it
- To prepare and send you a quote, which you have asked us for.
- To carry out the work and contact you about it, which is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To keep records of work completed, for insurance and accounting purposes and to comply with our legal obligations.
- To show before and after photos of completed work as examples, but only where the property cannot be identified, or where you have specifically agreed to it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information to anybody, ever. We do not pass your details to third party lead generation companies. Information may be shared with our insurer or accountant where that is necessary, and with any tradesperson we work alongside on a job, but only the details needed to get the work done.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within twelve months. Records of completed jobs, including invoices, are kept for six years as required for tax and insurance purposes.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not use a cookie banner because it has no cookies to consent to. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and your IP address is visible to them as part of that request. Nothing else on the site tracks you.
If we add website analytics in future, this policy will be updated first and you will be told what is collected.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted where we have no lasting reason to keep it, and to object to how we use it. Just call or message and we will sort it out. There is no charge for this.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
